The thread
It starts with one thread.
CURVELLAA is a small line of crochet for summer: tops, dresses, skirts, bags and hair scarves. We design every piece around one cotton yarn in three colours and six stitches, so the pieces belong together the way a pattern book does.

One yarn, three colours
Every piece is crocheted from the same cotton yarn. It comes in Milk, an undyed off-white; Terracotta, the colour of a sunbaked roof; and Olive, a deep khaki green. A Terracotta top is the same Terracotta as the skirt, the bag and the hair scarf.

Six stitches
- 01 · Shell stitch Five double crochets from one stitch make a fan; fans sit in rows, offset by half a shell.
- 02 · Granny square Clusters of three double crochets worked in rounds from a ring of chains, joined square to square.
- 03 · Filet mesh One double crochet, two chains, repeated: an open grid of small squares.
- 04 · Pineapple lace Chain loops worked row on row, one fewer each time, framed by shells: the pineapple motif.
- 05 · Ripple stitch Half double crochets worked up and down in waves, row on row, almost without gaps.
- 06 · Bobble stitch Several unfinished stitches closed together into a raised bobble on a close ground.
Openness, written down
Crochet is made of loops, and loops leave gaps. Instead of hoping you notice in the photos, we grade every piece:
- ClosedOpenness: Closed. Dense stitch, not see-through. Dense stitch, not see-through.
- AiryOpenness: Airy. Small gaps between the stitches: skin shows at close range. Small gaps between the stitches: skin shows at close range.
- OpenOpenness: Open. Open lace or mesh: see-through by design. Open lace or mesh: see-through by design.
Each product page also says what to wear underneath, and where a lining starts and stops.
